Aurora House Foundation, Weslaco, Texas On Saturday ,February 25, 2023, Aurora House will be holding their 7th Annual 80’s Retro Glow Run 5K/1Mile Fun Run Event presented by RGV ACO Health Providers, LLC at Mayor Pablo Pena Park, 300 N. Airport Drive, Weslaco, Texas. The event will feature glow-in the dark fun and includes a 1M Fun Run for younger children, and a 5k option for all other participants. All ages, walkers, strollers, furry friends are welcome. Age group awards will be awarded to the overall top three female and top three male participants. The Fun Run will begin at 6pm with a Zumba work out and the 1Mile Fun Run will begin shortly after at 6:30 PM. The 5k run will begin at 7 PM. A post-race 80’s party will follow the run.
All proceeds from this event will benefit Aurora House, a non-profit that provides quality end-of-life care and support in a home-like environment to members in our community who have been diagnosed as terminally ill and are in their last three months of life. Community members, at any age, regardless of their ability to pay are supported through these contributions.
“We know our community is excited to return to outdoor activities after COVID, and hope for a successful event filled with community support,” shares Aurora House Director, Marisela Gonzalez. “In caring for dying patients, Aurora House sees the ravages and pain that result from a lifetime of diseases like diabetes and obesity, this event is our way to promote a healthy lifestyle in a fun way.” The 80’s Retro Glow Run Vol.7 is more than just a fundraiser, it’s also a fun, family-friendly event, where our community and local businesses can come together for a wonderful cause.
